Veteran mode is an official Anomaly Detected goal. Roblox lists an enabled Veteran completion badge for The Residence, The Neighbourhood, The School, The Hospital, and The Mall. The badge descriptions require successfully completing the named chapter on Veteran, but do not publish unlock conditions, timers, anomaly rates, penalties, or any other tuning.
Confirm Veteran access and rules
Open the live contract or mode selector and confirm Veteran appears for the intended chapter. Read every displayed change or requirement. If it is locked, follow the current account progression shown by the game; badge existence alone does not explain access.
Do not rely on claimed exact windows, spawn rates, miss allowances, or tier lists from an undated guide. Those figures are absent from the official public material checked here. If the game presents a number, record it with the chapter, date, party state, and visible mode screen.
Use the published zoom input for your device—Shift, L2, or double tap—and confirm every other binding in the current client before beginning a serious attempt.
Pass the readiness gate
You are ready to learn Veteran when you can name every current feed, state two or three anchors per room, complete a full rotation without losing the continuation point, and describe a report before opening the menu. A standard clear is useful evidence that the route works, though public badges do not say it is a formal prerequisite.
Check these skills separately:
- Coverage: every feed has one owner and a known next step.
- Memory: each room has a large object, light, and empty boundary anchor.
- Input: zoom and report navigation do not require experimentation.
- Classification: object, light, and moving-shadow comparisons are distinct.
- Recovery: a failed report does not destroy the rest of the sweep.
If one skill is weak, practice it on the normal mode currently available. Veteran is a poor place to learn basic room identity.
Five official Veteran goals
The preparation focus is a practical mapping method based on the chapter identity, not an official statement of mechanics. Use actual live feeds to choose anchors.
Run a disciplined attempt
Begin with the same baseline and sweep used for normal play. Changing the route because the mode sounds harder creates uncertainty before the first anomaly. Start wide, compare anchors, use one targeted zoom, decide, and advance.
Report high-confidence changes first. State feed, feature, normal state, and changed state. After the result, continue from the next planned feed. If the current Veteran rules display a different requirement, integrate only that visible rule.
In co-op, preserve feed ownership and one reporter. Do not add players without giving them a defined view or backup role. In solo, protect the rotation from deep inspections. The public sources do not define how Veteran changes with party size.
Review failure without guessing numbers
Classify the first decisive problem. A coverage failure means a feed waited too long. A memory failure means the normal state was unclear. An input failure means zoom or report navigation interrupted the decision. A classification failure means the change was visible but assigned incorrectly.
Change one behavior on the next run. Replace a weak anchor, shorten a close check, rehearse one menu path, or simplify a co-op callout. Do not infer a probability from a handful of attempts or claim a universal “best” route without the current mode displaying it.
If Chapter 5 behaves unexpectedly, remember that its badge descriptions include the unexplained phrase “Half way there.” Verify live access and creator information before interpreting the result.
Veteran and Journal progress
Veteran badges are distinct from the five Journal 100% badges. Public metadata does not say whether Veteran reveals different Journal entries or whether Journal completion requires Veteran. Compare the live Journal before and after controlled runs rather than linking the goals by assumption.
Use Journal Guide for that comparison and the individual chapter pages for room-mapping prompts.
Common Veteran mistakes
- Quoting unpublished exact parameters as official.
- Entering before normal room identities are stable.
- Changing feed order under pressure.
- Adding co-op players without clear ownership.
- Treating dynamic badge award statistics as difficulty settings.
- Assuming Journal and Veteran dependencies not shown by the game.
Frequently asked questions
Is Veteran mode official?
Yes. Every named chapter has an enabled Veteran completion badge.
How does Veteran change the game?
The official public sources checked here do not publish the tuning. Read the current mode screen and record live observations with a date.
Must I clear normal first?
A normal clear is strong practical preparation, but the badge API does not state a formal prerequisite. Follow the live selector.
