Anomaly Detected has five chapter identities confirmed by official Roblox badges: The Residence, The Neighbourhood, The School, The Hospital, and The Mall. Each one has a normal completion badge, a Veteran completion badge, and a Journal 100% Completion badge. Those badges prove the named goals exist; they do not publish room maps, feed counts, unlock rules, anomaly pools, or exact completion conditions. Use this chapter hub to choose the correct contract and apply a repeatable mapping method inside the current game.

Open The Mall guideThe numbers in the badge names provide a stable display order. They do not by themselves prove that every account unlocks chapters linearly or that a newly created badge marks a release date. Use the contract selector and completion feedback in your current session to determine access.
Prepare before entering a new contract
Read every visible chapter, mode, and lobby label before joining. Confirm whether you are playing alone or with friends and whether Veteran is selected. A baseline learned under one set of conditions is still useful, but the public pages do not state how difficulty or party size changes timing, reports, or anomalies.
For an unfamiliar chapter, make the first run a mapping run. Cycle through all available feeds in one direction. Give each feed a short name from a stable landmark visible on screen. Record the first and last feed so you know where the loop wraps. Then assign three anchors: one large object, one light source, and one empty boundary such as a doorway, window, or corridor edge.
Use the official zoom input only after choosing an anchor. Shift on keyboard, L2 on controller, and double tap on mobile are confirmed. Other buttons should come from the live interface. Return to wide view after checking the detail so your memory remains tied to the whole room.
Make a chapter route from the feeds
A useful surveillance route is an ordered list, even when the player never walks through the monitored location. Start at the first feed, scan left to right, compare the chosen anchors, and move to the next feed. When the final feed is complete, restart at the same point. Consistency makes a skipped room more obvious than raw speed does.
Do not turn this record into a guessed complete map. A chapter page should state only the feeds, anchors, and actions observed in the version being played. If a contract update changes a camera or room, revise the record rather than forcing the old route to fit.
Connect the three goals for each chapter
The normal completion badge tells you that a successful chapter clear is recognized. The Veteran badge tells you there is a Veteran-mode clear for the same named chapter. The Journal badge describes capturing all known anomalies within that chapter Journal. These are related goals, but one badge description does not say that earning another is a prerequisite.
Begin with normal completion because it gives you a calmer context for mapping. Move to Veteran Mode only after you can name each feed and make high-confidence reports. Work on the Journal alongside repeat runs, checking the live record after each session. If progress does not update, confirm chapter, mode, entry, and end-of-run feedback before assuming a bug.
Chapter 5 badge descriptions include the phrase “Half way there.” That text is official, but its meaning is not explained by the badge API. It could refer to progression, development, or another context. Read the current contract and badge interface before treating The Mall as complete, incomplete, locked, or a midpoint.
Solo and co-op chapter planning
In solo, one player owns the full feed loop. Use the same start feed on every pass and keep notes short enough to remember without looking away. If a room repeatedly causes uncertainty, give it one additional anchor rather than making the entire loop slower.
In co-op, Roblox lists a maximum server size of eight, but the ideal party size and exact lobby mechanics are not publicly documented. Assign feeds only after everyone can see the current layout. One player should own each group, and callouts should contain chapter, feed, feature, and change. Decide who submits a report before a tense moment begins.
Use the Co-op Guide for role design and the Camera Tips guide for a shared baseline vocabulary. A larger group is not automatically easier if nobody knows which view belongs to them.
Common chapter mistakes
- Assuming a chapter title proves a room list found elsewhere is current.
- Using “Neighborhood” in a report when the official title is “The Neighbourhood” and confusing two saved notes.
- Treating badge creation time as an exact content-release date.
- Starting Veteran before learning the normal geometry and report labels.
- Mixing Journal entries between chapters because similar anomaly families appear in more than one setting.
- Adding exact timers, probabilities, feed counts, or endings without a current repeatable observation.
Recovery is straightforward: return to the contract selector, confirm the exact chapter and mode, rebuild one baseline loop, and use the game’s own completion or Journal feedback as the final record.
