Anomaly Detected Chapter 1 The Residence

Prepare for Anomaly Detected Chapter 1, The Residence, with a first-pass room map, report routine, Veteran preparation, and Journal checks.

The Residence is the official name of Anomaly Detected Chapter 1. Roblox has enabled badges for completing the chapter, completing it on Veteran mode, and capturing all known anomalies within its Journal. Those badges establish the goals, while the current contract screen and feeds determine the actual room layout, unlock state, and report flow.

Residence plan: use the first available run to name every feed by a fixed household landmark, then compare large objects, lights, and empty boundaries in one repeatable loop.

Confirm the Chapter 1 contract

Open the contract selector and look for the exact title “Chapter 1 – The Residence.” Confirm the selected mode and whether you are alone or with friends. Do not assume the chapter is automatically selected merely because it carries the first number.

Read the live controls before starting. The creator publishes Shift, L2, and double tap as keyboard, controller, and mobile zoom inputs. Camera navigation and reporting controls should come from the current interface. Practice zooming on a normal object and returning wide before pressure builds.

The official completion badge is ID 730424518350441. Its description says to successfully complete Chapter 1, but it does not disclose a timer, missed-anomaly allowance, feed count, or required order. Let the result screen explain the current success condition.

Map The Residence feeds

Make one baseline pass through every visible feed. Give each view a short name based on architecture or a large stable feature. In a residence setting, furniture and decoration may be visually dense, so pair a large silhouette with a fixed edge such as a doorway, window, wall corner, or floor line. Use only features actually visible in your session.

For each feed, note:

  • the label or number shown by the game;
  • one large object and its relation to the room;
  • one light source and the surface it normally affects;
  • one empty doorway, window, or wall boundary;
  • the next feed in your rotation.

Avoid building the baseline around one small decoration. A changed object can erase the landmark you depended on. A boundary remains useful when furniture, light, or shadow changes nearby.

Run the Residence sweep

Start wide and compare room geometry before details. Ask whether an object is misplaced, whether a light flickers, and whether a shadow moves independently; all three are examples from the official Experience description. These questions are observation families, not a claim about every Chapter 1 Journal entry.

Zoom only on a selected anchor. If a small item appears displaced, compare it to two fixed references. If illumination changes, watch the fixture and nearby surface. If a shadow seems active, hold your gaze on a doorway or wall edge and check for an ordinary source.

Before reporting, say the current feed, feature, normal state, and changed state. Choose the room and category wording shown by the game. After a successful report, continue to the next feed rather than restarting or watching the same area for another scare.

Prepare for the three Chapter 1 goals

GoalOfficial badgeUseful preparation
Normal completionChapter 1 – The ResidenceLearn the full feed loop and follow current result feedback.
Veteran completionChapter 1 – The Residence (Veteran), ID 2279310547665446Enter only after anchors, room labels, and reports feel automatic.
Journal completionChapter 1 Journal – 100% Completion, ID 2347833876267561Compare the Residence Journal before and after a clear recognized report.

Do not assume earning one badge automatically unlocks another. The badge API does not publish dependencies. Use the live selector and account progress shown in the Experience.

Solo and co-op route

Solo gives you one consistent Residence baseline. Begin every rotation on the same feed and limit a close inspection to one question. If a view repeatedly consumes attention, replace its smallest anchor with a larger relationship.

In co-op, assign feeds after everyone sees the current Chapter 1 layout. Use one owner per group and one designated reporter if the interface permits. A useful callout is “Residence, feed label, feature, change.” If a player disconnects, announce and reassign the uncovered views.

Roblox lists a maximum server size of eight, but that is not a recommended Residence party size. Choose enough players to improve coverage without duplicating every check.

Journal tracking in The Residence

Open the Chapter 1 Journal before the run and record the visible state. After a successful report, complete or exit through the normal live flow and check the same Journal again. The official badge description uses “capture,” but does not define whether credit occurs on sight, report, completion, or another event.

Record names only after the game reveals them. Attach the feed, normal anchor, visible change, report result, and date. Do not import a claimed Residence list with no version or current Journal comparison.

Common Residence mistakes

  • Assuming a household-looking object is stable without checking its relationship.
  • Memorizing a decoration but not the doorway or surface around it.
  • Starting Veteran before completing a clean baseline pass.
  • Mixing a similar entry from another chapter into the Residence Journal.
  • Treating the badge description as a full walkthrough.

If the chapter feels confusing, return to the Beginner Guide and reduce each feed to three anchors. Accuracy grows from repeated relationships, not a guessed complete list.

Frequently asked questions

Is The Residence officially Chapter 1?

Yes. That exact identity appears in the enabled Roblox badge name.

How many rooms or anomalies are in The Residence?

The official public sources checked here do not publish those totals. Count current feeds in the live contract and use the Chapter 1 Journal for entries.

Does The Residence have Veteran and Journal badges?

Yes. Both are enabled alongside the normal completion badge.
